We get here well past dinner time. Good thing I brought some cans of
chili so I can make a quick dinner. But there's no can opener.
Hmm...Oh!, I can make veggies burgers. Except I didn't bring olive oil
for the pan. Maybe I can just toast the patties in the toaster. Hey,
that's working! Wait, what the heck is that sound? Smoke alarm from
the frozen patties having to be toasted for so long. In the meantime I
am utterly exhausted from minimal sleep last nite & a VERY busy day &
my kids are both fussy. A glass of wine sounds great...no wine
glasses. I didn't bring those either. Wine in a big plastic blue cup.
Classy. Ugh, finally got everyone fed & everything cleaned up. Maybe
I'll wash my face & get ready to wind down...forgot my face wash.
Let's see...what else?...I didn't pack any shoes for Lily, just the
rain boots she was wearing & I was literally walking out the door when
I remembered that I hadn't packed a sweater or pants for myself. I
really truly am about to lose it. Surprisingly I am not resenting my
hubby at all. Usually I would be all bitter that I had to pack food,
toiletries, Lily, Jake, & myself & arrange the dogsitter.
Even after all that I am so stoked to be here. Our trailer is fabulous
and it'll be a fun weekend. We REALLY need it.
Any of you have disasterous yet wonderful experiences?
So far so good?

Disastrous but fun...isn't that the definition of camping?
The way I see it if everything was packed perfectly and everything went smooth it would be just another time to forget! I think the crazy mishaps actually help us to remember some really fun times! :) So glad you are enjoying your camper! One of these days we just might break down and get one!!!
There was the time we thought we'd actually camp and use a tent . . . only we forgot the tent poles in the garage.
Or the first time Kevin and I went camping together. We hiked our gear in (ahh, young love!) and set up camp. I was so thrilled with myself until I realized I didn't pack utensils for cooking. It was very interesting trying to make pancakes without a spoon or a spatula!!
You're definitely making memories!
